Once there were two women.
One, my darling, is your birth mom and the other is your mother.
Two different lives, shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star; the other became your sun.
The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality; the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent, the other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions; the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile; the other dried your tears.
One chose adoption. It was all that she could do. The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you. And now you ask me through your tears, the age-old question through the years; Heredity or environment, which are you the product of? Neither, my darling, neither. Just two different kinds of love. ~ Author Unknown ~
"We feel so much love for our sons birth mother, and pray for her often. Without her love and sacrifice for her son we would not be able to have a family. She will forever hold a place in our hearts and be a part of our family."
"There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my child's first mom. My daughter looks just like her. Every time I am reminded of her, I say a little prayer for her. I hope she knows how much we treasure her."
"Even though I didn't meet my birth mother until I was an adult, I always wondered who she was. I knew deep in my heart that she loved me and made the best decision for me. I've had a great life! I feel incredibly grateful to her."
"Grace is the birth mom of our precious and wonderful son. Her wisdom to seek adoption and the sacrificial love of her son were evident even as she still carried him. As we have watched him grow, our deep love, appreciation, respect and admiration of Grace has grown. We admire her respect for the dignity and beauty of life as something to treasure even when circumstances are not ideal or the situation is not what you intended. We cherish her sacrificial gift of love to us and her son by giving him a forever home to provide him opportunities she could not offer and to provide us a deep and profound joy we could not have had on our own. She will forever have a special place of honor, admiration and love in our home and hearts."
"I grew in your tummy. You took care of me. I love you."
"We think of you all the time. I wonder where you are and what you're doing. Please know that our son is growing up to be a really great kid! Sending much love your way."
"To the Mom who made me a Mom:
Although my little boy doesn’t understand who exactly his tummy mommy is, we talk about how she loved him so much that she chose us to be his parents! I know that you chose me to care for your baby and make sure he grows into a sweet and loving young man. I still do not know how you were able to make the great sacrifice but will be forever grateful! Someday he will understand how much you loved him and the sacrifice you made as well! Thank you doesn’t seem strong enough but I will be forever grateful that you made me a Mom!"
"We were blessed to adopt a baby boy in 2018 which also brought our beautiful birth other into our lives. Meeting her has been one of the greatest experiences of our life. She is courageous, selfless, and wanted more for her child than she did for herself. Her life circumstances weren’t fair, weren’t easy, and yet she was working so hard to persevere. Our experience and time together will always be one of the most impactful experiences of our lives. We have written each other, prayed for each other and celebrated milestones. Our visits have brought us peace and the joy of watching one of life’s greatest gifts, our son, grow. We have so much admiration for our amazing birth mother. She has taught and given us so much, and she will always be loved by our family!!"
"I wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for you. Thank you Birth Mom."
"There are a few days that will forever connect us to one another. One day belongs to the birth of a precious baby boy. One belongs to the day you placed him in my arms, and one belongs to both of us as we’re honored as his mother and mama. You are incredible, and I want to make sure you always remember. Your love for my sweet boy was so powerful that you entrusted him to me. You chose to give him life on that cold night. You chose to place him in my arms on that very late and quiet night, and I choose to honor you always for both of those choices on Mother’s Day and every day! Thank you for being brave!"

On January 9th, 2020, from noon to 1pm EST, Spirit of Faith Adoptions will be presenting "From Closed to Open Adoption: The Lifelong Impact on the Adoptee" training via Zoom. Stacy will interview her friend, Ruthie, who will share her story about growing up adopted. When she talked to her birth mother for the first time, she told her, "The reason I am calling is I wanted you to know I am so appreciative. I have had a wonderful upbringing. I have never felt unloved, unwanted or rejected. I have always been curious about my biological family and I would really like to meet you in person." To hear her story, registration is required. For thirteen years, “Spirit of Faith Adoptions” has been working diligently to align our work with God’s redemptive plan for families and those in crisis. Our team of trusted adoption advisers provides adoption education to expectant parents and prospective adoptive parents, as well as nurses, pregnancy centers, churches, organizations serving women and children, students, community service organizations, and licensed therapists. Our fee schedule has not significantly increased over the past decade, and we would like to continue to operate in a manner that does not over-burden our adoptive families. But this is where we need your help. Please prayerfully consider coming alongside us during this holiday season to be the hands and feet of Jesus for His most vulnerable children. It is a sincere pleasure to celebrate birthdays at Spirit of Faith Adoptions! We're so grateful to God for His amazing and unique creations. Recently, a family sent us this email update, "Each night in November, I ask the children a gratitude question to prepare their hearts for Thanksgiving. Last week, the question was "What memory are you most thankful for?" Our child said his adoption was the memory he was most thankful for. His sister said, "But you don't remember your adoption." Our son said, "Sure I do. I remember it every day because it's how God gave me my family." Isn't that so precious!? Even though he can't recall any of the details of his birth or adoptive placement, he knows in his heart that God loves him, and his family loves him, both his birth family and his adoptive family. We all celebrate the gift of his life, on his birthday and every day!

6. Just released: Fireweed, Jennifer Mae's choice of adoption for her baby is captured in this life-affirming, beautiful true story.
In her recently published book, "Fireweed," she candidly tells the story of her unexpected pregnancy and parenting choice of adoption at 17 years of age. Her story pulls the reader in. You will laugh. You will cry. You will praise God with Jennifer. This is a must-read book.
Jennifer Mae turned her brokeness into a testimony of grace, love and hope. She is a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a beloved child of God who courageously opens her heart and shares her story because she wants others to know and understand adoption from the heart of the birth mother.
Jennifer Mae's story is available on Amazon for $16. She has designated a portion of all proceeds to go to the Fireweed Retreat. The first annual Fireweed Retreat, a Christian women's retreat for birth mothers will take place at Beulah Beach, in Vermilion, Ohio Sept 18-20th, 2020. All are welcome to register, no matter if a birth mother placed through Spirit of Faith Adoptions or any other agency or attorney. As a social work student, adoption coordinator, and speaker, Jennifer Mae is passionate about telling her story and caring for other women who have also walked in the shoes of a birth mother. It will be a weekend of sisterhood, encouragement and fun!
Jennifer Mae is also a gifted speaker. She will be sharing excerpts from her memoir at her Book Opening Event this Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at the Waterville Event Center. This is a family-friendly event, safe for children and families to attend. You can also hear some of her story at the Spirit of Faith Adoptions' Orientation meetings via Zoom. The next one is on November 19th from 7-8pm.
Jennifer Mae is a blessing, not only for choosing life for her unborn baby, but for humbly breaking her own heart as a mother as she chose adoption for her daughter, and for bravely writing her story and sharing it with the world.
All adoptees, birth mothers, birth fathers, expectant parents, parents of birth parents, adoptive parents, pastors, teachers, counselors, social workers, pregnancy advocates and volunteers, and friends of birth parents need to meet Jennifer Mae, through her story or in person.
Adoption is a loving choice. It is not easy. It is made by a loving, selfless parent who loves his/her child very, very much.
