This training will give participants the current known effects of alcohol and drug use on both a woman during pregnancy, as well as the current known effects on the baby 0-12 months old. This course will identify Fetal Alcohol Syndrome diagnosis and treatment, and drug withdrawal diagnosis and treatment. This course will identify specific prescription medications as well as illegal drugs use and the effects on the baby in the womb and beyond. Participants will be instructed how to help clients who are pregnant become educated on and linking them with resources to quit using alcohol and unsafe prescription or nonprescription drugs. Participants will be instructed how to link foster or adoptive families who have a baby who has FAS or drug withdrawal with resources.
